Vision:
That all across Quebec, child sexual abuse victims have access to specialized services adapted to their needs.
Mission:
To develop and share the leading expertise in the area of sexual abuse by combining medical, psycho-social, police and legal services with research and understanding.
Objectives:

Objectives of CEMV:
- Support active partners stakeholders that deal with the issue
- Assemble in one place all the services that sexual abuse victims and their families may need
Target group:
Children under 12, a parent or accompanying adult.

Police Expertise
Partnership with the SPVM:
- Continued presence of an investigator since April 2006
- Video interviews with children under 12 (with specialized equipment)
- Training and professional support in the use of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) non-suggestive interview Guide
Medical expertise
In partnership since April 2006 with the CHU Sainte-Justine and the Montreal Children's Hospital:
- Medical examination following disclosure of sexual abuse
- Samples and exams required by the medico-legal system
- Access to sophisticated equipment: the colposcope
- Access to other resources of the Centre
Research
Interuniversity Chair
The purpose of the Marie-Vincent Interuniversity Chair on childhood sexual abuse is to develop Quebec's expertise in the detection and treatment of sexual abuse in children, with the deepest respect for the real needs of the children and families receiving the Centre's services.
The Chair is composed of 3 Quebec universities:
- Université de Montréal
- Université du Québec à Montréal
- Université de Sherbrooke
