National Victims of Crime Awareness Week 2011
Many Voices, Many Paths
The 6th annual National Victims of Crime Awareness Week (NVCAW) will be commemorated across Canada from April 10 – 16, 2011. The theme that has been chosen for NVCAW 2011 is Many Voices, Many Paths.
This theme recognizes:
- That all victims of crime define their experiences differently, and will have different ways of working through the aftermath of their victimization. There are many reactions to becoming a victim of crime, and the needs of each victim will be unique.
- That victims of crime come from all walks of life and all over the country. All victims deserve to be treated with compassion and respect for their dignity.
- That dedicated professionals and volunteers work in many different ways towards ensuring that victims’ voices are heard.
